I'm already looking forward to the first game of the 2026 Season and the Captains Drive In at The Three Locks Golf Club on 21st March 2026!
The 2026 AGM will be held in the Three Locks club house after the results have been announced and prizes handed out to the lucky winners.
The long winter wait begins for the next HOGS game. The first match of the season will be at Three Locks golf club on 21st March 2026 - tee off at 11:00. Looking forward to seeing as many members as possible.

Division 1 (Handicaps 1-9)
Reduced by .1 for every point scored over 36pts
Increased by .1 for scores under 30pts

In the event of any ties the Stableford and Par 3 competitions will be decided by count back from the last society date, followed by penultimate date etc.
Everybody is responsible for their own scorecard which have to be handed in before the results are announced. Any scorecards submitted after this time will be discounted from the days results but the score will count towards the season total and any subsequent handicap adjustments.
Please also remember that:
Scorecards must be legible.
Try and keep one players score per card.
Please note that you will be required to pay for any fixture you book with the HOGS secretary, even if you are unable to attend on the day. Members are also responsible for any guests that they have invited to an event but have not turned up.
Players will no longer receive .6/.4/.2 shots back for any score of 28 or under; they will now receive .3/.2/.1 dependent on their category.
No player can join the Society on a higher handicap than at their club handicap if they have one.
New members without a club handicap will start on 18 (or lower if their official handicap is lower than 18)
A prospective member can submit 3 scorecards for their handicap to be calculated, the scores must come from rounds played with a committee member.
Where a member of the Society is playing an event where they are a club member they are still required to pay the fee to the Society. This will be retained by the Society and consideration will be given to donating any excess at the end of the season to a nominated charity.
The singles knockout competition has been discontinued due to lack of support.
The Hole in One competition is open to and can only be won by HOGS members.
HOGS fixtures are open to guests of HOGS members but after playing two fixtures in the same season they must join as a HOGS member to play any further fixtures in the season.
Any new members playing their first game cannot win the days 1st, 2nd or 3rd prizes and therefore they will not be asked to pay the days £5 prize fee.
The HOGS Golf Society was formed in the Queens Head pub in Horspath in 2000 and now consists of 40+ members. We are a friendly group who like to play golf, drink and enjoy some banter.
The society arranges a golf competition for any given Saturday once a month for 8 months of the year to compete & socialise.
